It is our mission to pass on this love of performing to our students and inspire them to progress and extend their own creative paths. All teachers at Dynamix are DBS Enhanced Checked and have Safeguarding Certificates.

Vocal Coach - Adam Gilbert

Adam Gilbert studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and most recently at the National Opera Studio in London. He is one of the first recipients of a Career Development Award from the Bryn Terfel Foundation and has enjoyed a successful freelance career. In 2013 he created the role of Gulliver in the world premiere of Imago for Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Other recent engagements have included roles for Wexford Festival Opera, Iford Arts Festival and Mid Wales Opera. Alongside his opera commitments Adam is a frequent concert artist and is popular across the UK, particularly in opera galas and oratorio. His repertoire includes The Crucifixion, Messiah, Elijah, Mozart Requiem, St Cecelia Mass and Carmina Burana amongst others.
Engagements this season include concert performances with Welsh National Opera, staged scenes with Scottish Opera and covering the role of Frederic in Lakme with Opera Holland Park. Check out Adam’s website www.adamjgilbert.co.uk

Principal & Director - Laura Gilbert

A graduate from Trinity College, Laura Blundall-Gilbert is one of West Wales’ finest singers and actresses. She is a highly skilled and versatile performer with a wide range of professional experience from Drama to Opera, particularly acclaimed for her honest and touching portrayals in Musical Theatre. She has performed many principal roles in: ‘Calamity Jane’, ‘Carousel’, ‘Me and My Girl’, ‘Oklahoma’ and many more for companies across the UK including Welsh National Youth Opera. As a concert soloist she is a frequent guest artist with many local choirs and has enjoyed tours abroad to Spain and New York. She has been successful in National and International competitions including Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Alongside her performing commitments Laura has been a dedicated and passionate teacher for over 10 years with many of her students gaining places at prestigious performing arts schools such as Mountview, RADA and Trinity. She aims to inspire the next generation of performers and pass on the skills she has learnt over the years. She opened Dynamix Performing Arts School in 2011 and has directed productions such as Hairspray, Footloose and Annie.

Dance Coach - Nia Jones

Nia has been dancing all her life and joined local dance school ‘Dreams’, where she later qualified from and taught for many years. Nia studied the major dance genres of ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary and particularly enjoys choreographing routines incorporating these styles. Nia Jones is a fully qualified IDTA and RAD dance teacher with over eight years teaching experience. She was the former principal at Dreams Dance School where she taught a variety of dance styles, prepared pupils for dance exams, organised and directed many dance shows and events in the local area. As a performer she has taken part in many shows including Amaryllis at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is delighted to be joining the Dynamix team and looking forward to working with students in all their shows.

Dance Coach - Lucy Georgina Thomas

Lucy Georgina Thomas is an accomplished artist, performer and dancer in many genres. She began her dance training at the early age of 3 with Hannah LaTrobe at On Your Toes School of Dancing. This led her to attain Grade 8 in RAD Ballet and reach vocational Intermediate and Advanced levels in IDTA Tap and Modern Jazz. She has performed on stage throughout her life, obtaining up to Grade 8 Reading for Performance in LAMDA examinations.
She followed her love of creativity and storytelling by attaining a First in BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University in 2018. During her studies, Lucy continued to dance through the Performing Arts Society taking part in various live shows. Upon finishing university, Lucy returned home to Wales and joined Dynamix Performing Arts School as a choreographer and dance teacher. She is enthusiastic to share her passion and knowledge of dance with us at Dynamix.
